High Availability
High Availability is defined here as an automated process between two or more frames within a single data center
Dual VIO servers on each frame
- Provides redundant resources to each Client LPAR thus eliminating single points of failure for I/O devices
Multiple client LPARs
- At least two (2) client LPARs on separate hardware frames are necessary to provide High Availability
Multiple Hardware Management Consoles (HMC) are desired
